Products with Antidepressant bioactivity

Cat.No. Product Name
BCN4099 beta-Amyrin palmitate
1. Beta-Amyrin palmitate may release norepinephrine from newly synthesized pools, and thus, it may activate noradrenergic activity. 2. Beta-Amyrin palmitate, like mianserin and imipramine, reduces the duration of immobility of mice significantly in a dose-dependent manner (5, 10 and 20 mg kg-1); (1)Beta-Amyrin palmitate or mianserin elicits a dose-related reduction in locomotor activity of mice and antagonizes locomotor stimulation induced by methamphetamine, imipramine increases locomotor activity and potentiates methamphetamine-induced hyperactivity; (2)Beta-Amyrin palmitate shows no effect on reserpine-induced hypothermia, whilst mianserin (10 mg kg-1) and imipramine (10 and 20 mg kg-1) antagonizes the reserpine-induced effect; (3)Beta-amyrin palmitate has similar properties in some respects to mianserin and might possess a sedative action.
BCN4151 epsilon-Viniferin
1. Epsilon-viniferin shows a human cytochrome P450 enzymes inhition activity. 2. Epsilon-Viniferin is a bacteriostatic stilbenoid as it antagonized the bactericidal activity of vancomycin. 3. Epsilon-viniferin and epsilon-viniferin pentaacetate slightly reduce cell proliferation but might protect from cell degenerescence. 4. Epsilon-viniferin exhibits good antioxidant capacity in the DMSO/O(-)(2) polar system (IC50= 0.14 mM). 5. (-)-Trans-epsilon-viniferin is an inhibitor of noradrenaline and 5-hydroxytryptamine uptake and of monoamine oxidase activity, it may be of value as a structural template for the design and development of new antidepressant drugs.
BCN4470 Scopoletin
Scopoletin exhibits antifungal, anti-allergic, anti-aging, and hypouricemic activities, it exerts anti-RA action probably through suppressing IL-6 production from fibroblast-like synoviocytes via MAPK/PKC/CREB pathways. Scopoletin can ameliorate alcohol-induced hepatic lipid accumulation by modulating AMPK-SREBP pathway-mediated lipogenesis in mice fed a high-fat diet.
BCN4916 Sakakin
Orcinol glucoside(Sakakin) shows potent antioxidative and anxiolytic activities without sedative effects, it can improve depressive behaviour in chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) rats by downregulating HPA axis hyperactivity and increasing BDNF expression and ERK1/2 phosphorylation in the hippocampus.
BCN5280 Nortrachelogenin
1. (+)-Nortrachelogenin shows effects on the central nervous system producing depression in rabbits. 2. (-)-Nortrachelogenin can induce membrane disruption and caspase-dependent apoptosis. 3. Nortrachelogenin shows anti-plasmodium activity of 14.50 dg/ml. 4. Nortrachelogenin has anti-inflammatory properties. 5. Nortrachelogenin is a novel agent for prostate cancer therapy with ability to inhibit Akt membrane localization and activity as well as the activation of growth factor receptors, thereby efficiently synergizing with tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), exposure. 6. (-)-Nortrachelogenin exerts its antibacterial effect by disorganizing and perturbing the cytoplasmic membrane. 7. (+)-Nortrachelogenin is moderately active against HIV-1 in vitro. 8. Nortrachelogenin shows moderate inhibiting activities on NF- κB signaling pathway induced by TNFα , with the IC50 value of 49.4 uM.
