Cancer Research
Cancer is a term used to define a group of diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control, are able to invade neighboring tissues/organs and metastasize. Cancer has been characterized by six hallmarks; self sufficiency in proliferative growth signals, insensitivity to growth inhibitors, evasion of apoptosis, limitless replicative potential, ability to develop blood vessels (angiogenesis), and tissue invasion and metastasis.

BCC1064
Gatifloxacin
Gatifloxacin (AM-1155; BMS-206584; PD135432) is a potent fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Gatifloxacin inhibits bacterial type II topoisomerases (IC50=13.8 μg/ml for S. aureus topoisomerase IV) and E. coli DNA gyrase (IC50=0.109 μg/ml). Gatifloxacin can be used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis in vivo.
-
BCN4958
Homoharringtonine
Homoharringtonine (Omacetaxine mepesuccinate;HHT) is a cytotoxic alkaloid with antitumor properties which acts by inhibiting translation elongation.
-
BCC2496
Linezolid
Linezolid (PNU-100766) is the first member of the class of oxazolidinone synthetic antibiotic. Linezolid acts by inhibiting the initiation of bacterial protein synthesis. Linezolid is used for the treatment of serious infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria that are resistant to several other antibiotics.
-
BCC1186
Mercaptopurine (6-MP)
6-Mercaptopurine is a purine analogue which acts as an antagonist of the endogenous purines and has been widely used as antileukemic agent and immunosuppressive drug.
-
BCC7860
Puromycin dihydrochloride
Puromycin Dihydrochloride (CL13900 dihydrochloride), an aminonucleoside antibiotic, inhibits protein synthesis.
-
BCC4935
Ribavirin
Ribavirin (ICN-1229) is an antiviral agent against a broad spectrum of viruses including HCV, HIVl, and RSV.
-
BCC4839
Rifampin
Rifampicin is a potent and broad spectrum antibiotic against bacterial pathogens. Rifampicin has anti-influenza virus activities.
-
BCC7621
Thiostrepton
Thiostrepton is a natural cyclic oligopeptide antibiotic, is a natural product of the ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptide (RiPP) class.
-
BCC3931
Trovafloxacin mesylate
Trovafloxacin mesylate is a broad-spectrum quinolone antibiotic with potent activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative and anaerobic organisms. Trovafloxacin mesylate blocks the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV activity. Trovafloxacin mesylate is also a potent, selective and orally active pannexin 1 channel (PANX1) inhibitor with an IC50 of 4 μM for PANX1 inward current. Trovafloxacin mesylate does not inhibit connexin 43 gap junction or PANX2. Trovafloxacin mesylate leads to dysregulated fragmentation of apoptotic cells by inhibiting PANX1.

BCC3930
Viomycin
Antibiotic; inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis
