Constitutive Androstane Receptor
The constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) is a member of the NR1I family of nuclear receptors, along with the pregnane X receptor and vitamin D receptor. The principal function of the constitutive androstane receptor is the sensing and clearance of foreign toxins.
Products for Constitutive Androstane Receptor
- Cat.No. Product Name Information/Activity

CITCO
CITCO, an imidazothiazole derivative, is a selective Constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) agonist. CITCO inhibits growth and expansion of brain tumour stem cells (BTSCs) and has an EC50 of 49 nM over pregnane X receptor (PXR), and no activity on other nuclear receptors.
-
BCC6979
TCPOBOP
TCPOBOP is a constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) agonist that induces robust hepatocyte proliferation and hepatomegaly without any liver injury or tissue loss. TCPOBOP attenuates Fas-induced murine liver injury by altering Bcl-2 proteins.
-
BCC3755
Clotrimazole
Clotrimazole is an imidazole derivative, an antifungal compound and is a CYP (cytochrome P450) inhibitor. Clotrimazole has antibacterial activity.

BCC6745
PK 11195
PK 11195 (RP 52028) is a ligand of translocator protein (TSPO), which targets Leishmania chemotherapy, with IC50s of 14.2 μM, 8.2 μM, 3.5 μM for L. amazonensis, L. major and L. braziliensis, respectively.

BCC1178
T0901317
T0901317 is a potent and selective agonist for LXR and FXR, with EC50s of 50 nM and 5 μM, respectively[1,2]. T0901317 induces its anti-proliferative and cytotoxic effects via an LXR-independent mechanism. T0901317 significantly suppresses cell proliferation and induces programmed cell death in a dose- and time-dependent manner. T0901317 can protect mice from high fat diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance.
