Five new indole alkaloids rauvotetraphylline A, rauvotetraphylline B, rauvotetraphylline C, Rauvotetraphylline D, Rauvotetraphylline E (1–5), together with eight known analogues, were isolated from the aerial parts of Rauvolfia tetraphylla. The structures were established by means of spectroscopic methods.
