Isodaphnoretin B, a new bicoumarin from Stellera chamaejasme.[Reference: WebLink]

To study the chemical constituents of the root of Stellera chamaejasme.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
Silica gel column chromatogramphy was used to isolate the compounds, and spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV, IR, MS and optical rotations) were used for the structural elucidation. Two bicoumarins: 7-hydroxy-5,6-dimethoxy-3-(2-oxo-2H-1- benzopyran-7-yl)oxy]-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one, named Isodaphnoretin B (1) and daphnoretin (2) were obtained from the root of Stellera chamaejasme.
CONCLUSIONS:
Compound 1 is a new bicoumarin.
