METHODS AND RESULTS:
Our chemical investigation on the rhizomes of Cimicifuga dahurica (Turcz.) Maxim. has led to the isolation of three known cycloartane triterpenoids, cimigenol-3-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (23R,24S) (Ⅰ), 25-O-acetylcimigenol-3-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (23R,24S) (Ⅱ)and isoferulic acid (Ⅴ) and two new ones, cimiside A (Ⅲ) and Cimiside B (Ⅳ), structures of which have been established on spectral evidence as 12β-hydroxylcimigenol- 3- O-β- D- xylopyranoside (23R, 24S) and cimigenol- 3-O-β- D-xylopyranosyl- 3-β-D-xylopyranoside (23R,24S).
