Standard InChI

InChI=1S/C17H23NO3/c1-18-13-7-8-14(18)11-15(10-13)21-17(20)16(19)9-12-5-3-2-4-6-12/h2-6,13-16,19H,7-11H2,1H3/t13?,14?,15?,16-/m1/s1

Biological Activity

Littorine is not converted directly to the alkaloid, and it is suggested that it is hydrolysed in vivo to tropine and phenyl-lactic acid, the latter undergoing rearrangement to tropic acid prior to esterification with tropine.[1]
There are short-term toxic effects of 1-naphthol on the digestive gland-gonad complex of the marine prosobranch Littorina littorea .[2]
