Camptosorus sibiricus rupr aqueous extract prevents lung tumorigenesis via dual effects against ROS and DNA damage.[Pubmed: 29258855]

Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr (CSR) is a widely used herbal medicine with antivasculitis, antitrauma, and antitumor effects. However, the effect of CSR aqueous extract on B[a]P-initiated tumorigenesis and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. Moreover, the compounds in CSR aqueous extract need to be identified and structurally characterized.

New triterpene glycosides from Camptosorus sibiricus.[Pubmed: 21121247]

Two new cycloartane glycosides were isolated from the whole herbs of Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr. By means of chemical and spectroscopic methods (1D and 2D NMR, HRMS, ESI-MS), the structures were established as (24R)-3beta,7beta,24,25,30-pentahydroxycycloartane-30-O-coumaroyl-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-24-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) and (24R)-3beta,7beta,24,25,30-pentahydroxy-1-ene-cycloartane 24-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2). The two new compounds were inactive in vitro against A375-S2 and Hela human tumor cell lines using the MTT method.

New cycloartane glycosides from Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr.[Pubmed: 19031248]

Three new cycloartane glycosides were isolated from the whole herbs of Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr. By means of chemical and spectroscopic methods (IR, 1D, and 2D NMR, HR-MS, ESI-MS), the structures were established as (24R)-3beta,7beta,24,25, 30-pentahydroxycycloartane-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-[alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-24-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1), (24R)-3beta,7beta,24,25,30-pentahydroxycycloartane-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-[beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-24-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2), (24R)-3beta,7beta,24,25,30-pentahydroxycycloartane-30-O-coumaroyl-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-24-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3). At the same time, the new compounds were tested for their cytotoxicities in vitro against human tumor cell lines (A375-S2, Hela) using MTT method.

New disaccharoside from Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr.[Pubmed: 19023798]

A new disaccharoside (2) together with a known disaccharose (1) was isolated from the ethanol extract of Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr. By means of chemical (hydrolysis) and spectroscopic methods (IR, 1D and 2D NMR, ESI-MS), the structures were established as beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) and Octane-1-en-3-ol-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2) respectively. Compounds 1 and 2 were isolated from this genus first and their anti-tumour activities were tested against two human tumour cell lines using MTT method.

Free radical scavengers, antioxidants and aldose reductase inhibitors from Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr.[Pubmed: 18386490]

Flavonoids and organic acids were recommended in the literature as the main active constituents of Camptosorus sibiricus Rupr. Assay-guided fractionation led to the isolation of 9 flavonoids and 8 phenolic acids. All compounds were tested for DPPH scavenging activity, SOD-like and aldose reductase inhibition. Among them, compounds 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 15 showed activities. The most active free radical scavenger and antioxidant was compound 8, while compound 1 exhibited strong inhibiting activity of aldose reductase. The structure-activity relation was dicussed briefly.
