Triterpenoid saponins from Neonauclea sessilifolia Merr.[Pubmed: 14989373]


METHODS AND RESULTS:
Two new triterpenoid saponins, Quinovic acid 3-O-(6-deoxy-beta-D-glucopyranoside) 28-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester and quinovic acid 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(4 --> 1)-beta-D-glucopyranoside, along with three known saponins, have been isolated from the EtOAc extracts of the dried stems of N. sessilifolia Merr.
CONCLUSIONS:
Structure elucidation of 1-3 was based on NMR, MS, IR and chemical analysis.
